“three wheeled hunting scooter -electric mountain bike hunting”

If the mountain bike excels as a hunting machine, it shines even more in post-season scouting. If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t mind venturing into bedding areas once deer season ends, but you still want to get in and back out as quickly as possible. With the bike, you can do just that.

I don’t think the camo finish is important and tends to hide the bike when I’m searching for it in the woods. Other guys might like that but I am not really that into it. I have been tying an orange rag to the handlebars to help me out! It does look cool though and gets plenty of comments!

The base frame is welded or fillet brazed (your choice), heat-treated chrome moly (Columbus Zona or TruTemper Verus) with the same tube sizes as the Vida Loca BMX bikes. Chainstays and seatstays are .75″ x .035″ aircraft grade chrome moly. Cable routing is standard Thursday, triple stops under the top tube, with a top-pull front derailleur.

I bought my QK in 2015 and have used it for more that a season now and am very pleased with both the performance of the unit, and the service from the company. It loads into my SUV, and is easy to take in and out and no trailer needed. Carries a load of 400#s with no problem, is quiet, quick, and makes my hunts more enjoyable. At 71yo it allows me to stay in the hunt. The read more…

Hunting on a bicycle is a little different than I imagined. I have jumped elk while riding, but they ran for it before I could get off a shot. Others may be able to pull this off, or I might catch up to a really dumb elk. Deer, of course, are another matter: they are an order of magnitude less wary than elk. Anyway, the main benefit of the bicycle on the hunt is you can cover so much more ground. And you can travel those roads the forest service has closed off. If I had to guess I would say the bicycle quadruples the area you can hunt.

Weighing in at under 27 pounds, the new EP0 Ultralightweight Electric Bicycle (up on Kickstarter now) from Maxwell Motorbikes aims to aid in daily commutes and adventurous bike excursions. Not only is it one of the lightest electric bikes on the…

What I learned wringing the bike out: first thing was, the controls needed to be reversed (I’m right handed) so I could control the bike with my left hand while keeping the rifle from falling off my shoulder. Also, I push the bike from the left side and I wanted the rear brake on the left for control on downhill stretches. You wouldn’t want your load to drag you downslope to an uncertain fate ….

So there were a few things happening last weekend but don’t think for a second that we didn’t notice this little milestone – 3000 Page Likes is brilliant – thanks to everyone that contributes to and supports our humble little Mountain Bike club 😎🤗

I Purchased in January for hunting. I added a rubber maid basket to carry times like tools, rain gear etc. It did take some time to get use to driving. It is quiet, so I can drive to my neighbors and hunt back yards without disturbing their morning sleep. I love it that i can pick it up and load into my truck without assistance. The battery life is great, and easy to charge. I also use it around the yard when my wife steals my gator for her bee work. Next week to the turkey woods in north pa.

Choose an electric bike from top brands like Razor, Monster Moto and Jetson, and your child will be burning rubber in no time! In sporty colors like yellow, green and red, your little rider can cruise in style at speeds of up to 15 mph. Adventures can usually last up to 40 minutes, or 10 miles, on a single battery charge. To ensure you get the right bike for your child, carefully examine the age and weight restrictions of your new electric bike.

The first step in building the ultimate hunting machine is picking out the bike. Personally, I didn’t want to invest a lot of money. A more passionate cyclist might criticize me on that point, arguing that you get what you pay for, and in retrospect, I might be inclined to agree with that view, as the model that I chose has required several repairs and upgrades over the past few years.

The bicycle itself has always been a tool for me, a way to access hard to reach places. I have been hunting by bike for as long as I can remember being able to hunt and the Ruffed Grouse is my favorite quarry. There is no better tasting thing in the world in my opinion. You might as well lump Grouse, Lobster and Walleye together the best things you can pluck from nature, pour butter on and consume.

I have own this bike for 4 years now, and its a great bike for hitting the trails and going off road. I was surprised multiple times as i have wiped out on this bike about five times and yet the bike has received nearly no damage. The bike is still in great shape and can handle hills, jumps, and rough trails very well. The only problem i have had is the gears. The need to be twiked other wise they will skip on you. Other wise i do recommend this bike for mountain biking and hitting trails.

Since some of my camp partners and I started hunting from mountain bikes in 2000, we have killed our fair share of elk. Our motivation for using bikes came from Weyerhaeuser Company’s decision in 2000 to lock the gates on some of their logging roads in southwest Washington during hunting season, restricting those roads to non-motorized travel only.

I bought this go-kart for my daughters about a year and a half ago or maybe it was 2-1/2 years ago who knows. It sits in our garage and has barely been used. Its a constant source of headache and I wish I could go back in time and convince myself to NOT buy this go-kart. I HATE when my kids want to use it because just as the case today, I couldn’t get the thing to start. If there was a way I knew to lemon law it,..simply return it for a refund, I would do so. It has so many problems that they never seem to end. It would start OK when we had just purchased the go-kart but you always had to have someone sitting behind the wheel pushing on the accelerator or the engine would die,…no idling with this go-kart without it dying. Also, the right rear tire has never held air long. I think the recommended age for this go-kart is 14+ but it is really designed for about an 8 year old. While the kart has knobby tires indicating it could travel off road, my daughter who was 7 at the time and 42lbs could not drive it off road up a moderate incline in the grass without needing one of us to push. And while the go-kart will pull my 12 year old on pavement, at 5’3″ she can barely fit into the go-kart with the seat all the way back. The turning on the go-kart is very poor, the right front tire is almost bald because the other front tire doesn’t touch the ground and I called the company about these problems and to their credit, even though they told me it was past the 90 day limit they did send me a replacement for the tire that goes flat but they then told me I’d have to find an engine shop and pay to have the tire put on. They also told me to go on their website and follow videos to clean out the carburetor which might help with the engine failing and terrible power. I might be able to change my car’s tire but I am not a mechanic and the company needs to do more than send a piece of junk to me and expect me to fix it. I hate the disappointed look in my kid’s eyes.

Tom Ryle’s passion for bowhunting has fueled adventures spanning the United States, Canada, and South Africa. He is an official measurer for the Pope and Young Club, NMLRA, NW Big Game Inc., and Oregon Shed Hunters.

This is the CB4. CB4 is a fatbike, a human powered all-terrain vehicle built to take hunters and anglers far into the backcountry quickly and quietly. Its massive 3.8”-wide tires run at very low pressure to provide flotation and amazing traction over rough or soft terrain.

While my first reaction to the surge in fat tire bikes made for hunting was one of curiosity, that has turned to excitement for trying out this new mode of transportation. Will this be another of those trends that ends up as a bit of hunting history, or will they find a niche that offers long-lasting usefulness? Speaking as a DIY bowhunter, let’s hope it’s the latter.

• Gun/Bow Holder – Universal gun/bow-holder mount transforms the Rambo Bikes Electric Vehicle into a true travel tool for hunters. Made of lightweight yet durable 6061 aluminum alloy, it securely holds any firearm, bow or crossbow for hands-free and safe travel. Requires XL Luggage Rack for installation and proper use.

Fully integrated into the frame’s downtube, a single 500 kWh battery—guaranteeing 750 full charge cycles—powers the Shimano drivetrain, all the while boasting a touring range between 80-100 km. To make sure all is working efficiently, an onboard interface the size of an iPod Nano is mounted on the handlebars. The digital readout shows the rider battery levels and consumption rates, current and average speed, distance traveled, duration and time of day.

The frame’s rear tubes maximize heel clearance while wearing boots and carrying cargo. The rear hub spacing and tube design provide clearance for fat tires without the need to ‘dish’ them outboard for tire clearance at the chain. The result is a strong wheel and a durable, efficient drivetrain.

At the same bike shop I also found a cargo rack that mounted over the rear tire. Next came a homemade bow rack consisting of a piece of aluminum tubing, purchased at a hardware store and a set of bow/gun holders designed to mount on an ATV rack or handlebars. To make the bow rack I attached the piece of aluminum tubing crossways at the farthest rearward portion of the cargo rack, using nuts and bolts, and then mounted the ATV bow/gun holder to that. It worked like a charm, and I was soon making it silently to my stand in a third of the time that it’d have taken me to walk.

The following is a description of my current bike set up. It works out pretty well but I am swapping out the tires this week for a tighter knob/tread pattern to further reduce punctures under load. Miles upon miles on sharp gravel roads is hell on tires, especially under heavy loads.

The scabbard is built as a transport for guns and bows and not for quick removal and hunting while under way. The actual rubber mounts for the guns are geared toward sleek weapons and not a short stubby shotgun and I have had to improvise the upper attachment.

Rick has been designing and fabricating beautiful and unique steel frames since the early 90’s. He builds every frame himself, with the same focus and simplicity that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_bicycle started with since the early days. From his small shop outside of Santa Cruz, each frame is brought to life and then cheerfully passed to it’s owner with a fond appreciation for the adventures that await.

Scouting, and especially tending to game cameras used for scouting during the summer is a great use for a fat tire e-bike.  The video shows just how scent free you can remain riding one of these.  You could even do better by wearing gloves 🙂

The rewards can be great—in our camp that means a fair share of public-lands elk nearly every year. Don’t let the locked gates or trails stop you if you have the will to get in shape, equip a plain-old mountain bike, and get pedaling—your next elk may be just around the corner.

A tagline from the brand is “We make gear for people looking to hunt, fish and forage in remote places.” Hansi Johnson, a Minnesota cyclist and hunter, happens to be one of them. He recently used the Cogburn bike hunting for ruffed grouse in the north woods of Minnesota.

Always carry a working tire pump!  Once I got a flat tire, and when I went to repair it, I found a broken pump. I changed tubes to ones containing “slime,” a leak-sealing agent, and installed a liner between the tire and the tube to prevent punctures. I haven’t had a leak since, but I still carry a lightweight pump, a CO2 inflator, and a patch kit.

I started thinking it out. The bike would have to get me around on abandoned roads and pack trails. It didn’t have to be fast but it had to be able to roll over rocks and logs. ALSO it had to be usable as a push-type cargo bike. Let me explain. Hunting is a great activity – it’s not a sport, exactly, it’s serious business – but it involves a lot of hard work. Especially after you kill an animal. An elk, even if you shoot it through the heart, can make one last dash, 25, 50, even 100 yards. It will usually head down hill or into brush. You have to crawl in after it and butcher it on the spot, then you have to get it out of the woods. Not much of a problem with deer, but an elk is the size of a horse. A lot of hunters end up carrying the elk out in pieces, on their backs, a quarter or a half mile. Maybe more.

The 3G Stepper is a cross between a bicycle and a StairMaster; it rides like a bicycle but is propelled by a vertical motion with your feet on two decks on either side of the frame. You stand up while riding, and your upper body gets as good a workout…

The frame is made of high quality heat-treated, double-butted A6N-6000AL tubing. Superior design and workmanship result in a high quality bike that is light, strong and responsive so you can go everywhere your hunts takes you.

The predator-afflicted can make stands for miles across the desert without the need of firing up a noisy vehicle. There is little doubt that e-bikes are vehicles of many applications, and they cost a fraction of their electric-powered counterparts.

Bikes these days come with both front and rear suspension. I opt for only the front, as the “hard tail” allows me to attach a luggage rack to the rear seat post and clamp to the lower frame. I snap on a set of panniers that hold my hunting gear—extra clothes, knives, saw, rope, food, space blanket, etc.  I still carry a backpack, but heavy items go into the panniers to help evenly distribute the weight. The panniers also double as a place to carry a couple of quarters.  I added a https://huntnbike.com seat post that flexes up and down, and an orthopedic-designed seat to make the ride a little more comfortable.
