“fat tire motorized bike +hunting fat bike”

The advantages of fat tire bikes are many. You can ride them over rough or muddy ground, even snow. They are geared for rough terrain and provide good traction and balance. They will ride right over small obstructions such as branches and rocks, obstacles that might trip up a normal mountain bike. These bikes are built to take the beating a hunter will dish out.

The scabbard is both awesome and frustrating. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_bicycle I have been just slinging the 12 gauge over my back. The first time I put the gun on the scabbard was freeing. It felt so good to get that blasted thing off my back and on the bike.

2006 Specialized Hardrock Comp hardtail. I don’t like rear suspension because I feel it robs energy that I want transferred to the ground when I pedal. I use conventional toe-clips to accommodate my hunting footwear. The tires are 2.20″ for extra load distribution. I also have TopPeak front fender to keep mud and water out of my face.

I purchased this bike to replace a mongoose Ledge 2.1 from Walmart. (lasted only 12 miles then fell apart). Although the bike came with crappy tires, front forks AND shock did not match the product description. i am still happy with it overall. It looks cool and rides very well for being so inexpensive. EASY ASSEMBLY.

The 750 watts of power is supplied to the rear hub by either pedal assist (the bike senses torque applied to the pedals and gives 5 levels of assist), or simply by the throttle integrated into the right hand grip.  The throttle will give you full assist on demand at any time.  The bike easily gets up to 20mph.  It will be a welcome break not having to pedal with all sorts of cold weather hunting gear, a backpack, and a weapon.

Some of you may remember an article I wrote in the early 2000’s about utilizing mountain bikes as a tool for hunting.  While the bikes were a great tool for eliminating scent and going quietly into the woods, they did have their drawbacks.  Under pedal power, I found I often arrived at my stand sweaty which was less than ideal. Even though mountain bikes were made for off road adventures, I often found that their tires were less than adequate for coping with fallen branches, rocks, and the like often found while hunting.

Glide through traffic without spewing any fumes, thanks to the plethora of e-wheels that are becoming available—though laws around the world are huffing and puffing to keep up. Below are new iterations of two-wheeled personal vehicles that are changing…

thanks for the article and the tip on the panniers. I started thinking about riding my mtn bike to hunt with when I once rode my bike into a herd of mule deer that had NO idea I was coming until I was in the middle. Luckily, none ran me over in the chaos that ensued. A buddy and I took a couple elk hunting a few years ago and though we didn’t get our elk (we got our shot, just not an elk), we could clearly see where the ATV tracks stopped and we were solo in the forest.

Hunter Mountain Bike Association will be holding it’s AGM at Awaba mountain bike park on Sunday March 25th. The AGM will be held on a combined DH and XC club day, we will advise the time for the AGM closer to the event. The AGM is important for us all so that we ensure there is an active and effective committee representing the wishes of the Club Members. [ 334 more words ]

This bike has dual hub motors at 1.000 watts each. each motor is driven individually with its own throttle control. I made this bike when I needed some thing to take hunting on public land where ATVs were not allowed.

This bicycle started as an idea …. while I was trudging along a closed Forest Service road in the upper Fish Creek drainage, north of the Lochsa River in Idaho. I was looking for elk. Man, there was a lot of country to cover. And that old Mauser was getting heavier by the minute.

Since some of my camp partners and I started hunting from mountain bikes in 2000, we have killed our fair share of elk. Our motivation for using bikes came from Weyerhaeuser Company’s decision in 2000 to lock the gates on some of their logging roads in southwest Washington during hunting season, restricting those roads to non-motorized travel only.

Most bike hunters I see don’t wear helmets. Always wear a helmet! Sooner or later, you’re probably going to crash.  A head injury behind a locked gate or on a trail can quickly become serious. I painted an old bike helmet with camo paint to eliminate the reflection and carry my cap in the panniers, changing it when I get off the bike.

Hey guys, great article. I’m an avid hunter and mountain bike enthusiast. I’ve been thinking about this concept for a year or so now and found your site while doing some research. I’ll be setting up a site at http://www.mountainbikehunting.com and would be honored if you would be a contributor or if I could refer to your page here.

Choose an electric bike from top brands like Razor, Monster Moto and Jetson, and your child will be burning rubber in no time! In sporty colors like yellow, green and red, your little rider can cruise in style at speeds of up to 15 mph. Adventures can usually last up to 40 minutes, or 10 miles, on a single battery charge. To ensure you get the right bike for your child, carefully examine the age and weight restrictions of your new electric bike.

If you don’t hunt you can use this bike for camping. Load it up, push it up any trail where bicycles are allowed. You can carry your load more easily on the bike, or you can carry much more stuff just as easily, compared to backpacking. And once you set up camp, you have a bicycle to get around on, haul wood and water, ride over to that trout-filled lake, and so on.

Don't toss those those dead rechargeables out of your mobile phone, camcorder or camera—they can be recycled. In fact, they're toxic, the industry wants them back and is providing thousands of recycle bins in the U.S. and Canada to make…

At the same bike shop I also found a cargo rack that mounted over the rear tire. Next came a homemade bow rack consisting of a piece of aluminum tubing, purchased at a hardware store and a set of bow/gun holders designed to mount on an ATV rack or handlebars. To make the bow rack I attached the piece of aluminum tubing crossways at the farthest rearward portion of the cargo rack, using nuts and bolts, and then mounted the ATV bow/gun holder to that. It worked like a charm, and I was soon making it silently to my stand in a third of the time that it’d have taken me to walk.

I bought my QK in 2015 and have used it for more that a season now and am very pleased with both the performance of the unit, and the service from the company. It loads into my SUV, and is easy to take in and out and no trailer needed. Carries a load of 400#s with no problem, is quiet, quick, and makes my hunts more enjoyable. At 71yo it allows me to stay in the hunt. The rack is designed for ease of use, and is easily modified for specialty needs.

So there were a few things happening last weekend but don’t think for a second that we didn’t notice this little milestone – 3000 Page Likes is brilliant – thanks to everyone that contributes to and supports our humble little Mountain Bike club 😎🤗

Rambo and Felt offer bikes with electric assist motors. The lithium ion batteries give you speeds of up to 20 mph and will travel 19 miles between charges on motor use alone. You can use the motor as a pedal assist if you like, which will give you even more distance on a battery. Sweating up a steep hill? Just switch on the motor for some assistance. There is some question about using the electric power on properties where no motorized vehicles are allowed, but a representative from Rambo told me the bike has been okayed by several state wildlife agencies.

Covering several hundred yards quickly is a simple affair for a hunter on a bike. Moreover, a bike seems to make less noise — or at least a less recognizable noise — than does someone walking; it certainly makes less noise that an ATV. Of course, if you’re riding in before dawn, you’ll want to have scouted the route before hand.
